South Africa’s Real Estate sector is a marketplace rich with history, where investors seek stable income returns and diversification in an investment portfolio. The recent REIT legislation is a significant development for South Africa’s publicly traded real estate sector. The REIT structure is an international standard as property investment globally.

Whilst the regulatory and financial landscape has changed since the global financial crisis in 2008, companies also have had to change the way they monitor and manage the risks they face. In a world where more information is available and change is happening faster and faster, companies have had to become agile to respond to these changes, ensuring that stakeholder value and reputation is protected.

Diversification, hands-on management, quality assets and a strong balance sheet have become essential to creating investor confidence.
