KPMG International has won two prestigious 2016 The Accountant & International Accounting Bulletin Awards
KPMG International has won two prestigious 2016 The Accountant & International Accounting Bulletin Awards, presented in London on 6 October. KPMG was awarded “Thought Leadership of the Year” for its 2016 Global CEO Outlook and “Communication Campaign of the Year - Global Organisation” for its COP21 communications campaign.
The KPMG 2016 CEO Outlook captures the views of more than 1,260 chief executives, in 10 countries, providing fresh insights on the state of business today and on the priorities CEOs are focused on as they pursue future growth.
Isabelle Allen, KPMG International’s Global Head of Clients and Markets, said about the award, “We are exceedingly proud to have our 2016 CEO Outlook recognized as thought leadership of the year by The Accountant and International Accounting Bulletin. ”The CEO Outlook offers a thought provoking view of the challenges CEOs see for their businesses, and themselves personally, over the coming 3 years. We are pleased that it has resonated so strongly with our clients, the wider business community and the media.”
KPMG’s award-winning COP21 communications campaign took place around the 21st UN Climate Conference (known as COP21) held in Paris at the end of 2015. The campaign’s mission was to help raise awareness of the importance of COP21 and to educate on the impacts for business of the historic climate change agreement that emerged from the talks. The campaign included a collaboration with the UN Climate Secretariat on UN Climate Talks LIVE, an online dashboard that gathered and analyzed over 3.5 million tweets about the event.
“COP21 was a critical point in the world’s fight against climate change and the transition to a low carbon economy,” said Adrian King, Global Head of Sustainability Services, KPMG International. “Through our campaign, we added KPMG’s voice to the calls for a global agreement on climate change and we raised awareness of the importance of that goal. I’m delighted that the judges recognized our contribution with this award. I’m very proud of the leadership our professionals have demonstrated in coming together as one on this issue around the world.”
Lord Michael Hastings, Global Head of Corporate Citizenship, KPMG International, added, “The COP21 communications campaign is part of our ongoing commitment to advancing environmental sustainability and campaigning on essential public interest matters like water sustainability and protecting natural habitats. It also reflects an ongoing commitment across KPMG to reduce our negative impact on the environment by positively reducing our carbon emissions.”
