Warren qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988 and joined the KPMG Corporate Finance Department in 1989. He was seconded to KPMG London for two years where he undertook assignments in both the Forensic and Corporate Finance practices. Warren returned to the South African Corporate Finance Department in 1993. He has been dealing with engagements involving all aspects of company investment since 1989. He has extensive experience in Sales and Divestitures; Mergers and Acquisitions; Initial Public Offerings; Fund raising; Valuation Services; Privatisation, Restructuring and Business Appraisals. Warren became a director in 1996 and was the director in charge of the South African KPMG valuation practice. He became managing director of Transaction Services in 2005, head of the Private Equity Markets in 2007 and head of Restructuring in 2011. Warren’s professional and industry experience stretches from his involvement with a number of distressed companies including Maxwell Group Newspaper in the UK, Health and Racquet and Saambou. He has also been involved in preparing the private equity portfolio companies for resale involving debt restructuring or equity solutions. As part of restructuring role, Warren has been involved with Business Rescue in terms of the current Companies Act. He has also performed working capital reviews and profit forecasts for a number of JSE listed clients.
