De Buys Scott is a Senior Partner in the KPMG Deal Advisory team, head of the Infrastructure advisory Division including all Financing aspects. De Buys is, furthermore, responsible for the development of the Power and Utilities and Transport sectors in Southern Africa. He has in excess of 33 years of SA, African and International experience in a wide variety of sectors and activities. He began his career in merchant banking where he was responsible for various aspects of corporate finance ranging from listings and disposals to mergers and acquisitions. He has extensive experience in Project and Structured finance and Public-Private Partnerships. He has worked with various state-owned enterprises and national government departments. He specialises in feasibility studies, financing structuring and raising and procurement processes. Some of his recent projects were in the Transport and Power and Utilities Industries. He delivered intensive services to PRASA, DOE IPP, Gautrain Management Agency, various major Cities and Metro’s in SA, Private and Public Health facilities and to various PPP projects both on Public and Private side. He has worked at KPMG since 2002 and is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
