Marlene Pappas

Marlene is the COO of KPMG. She has attained over 26 years with the firm. Marlene joined KPMG to serve her external audit training contract, whilst studying towards her degree on a part-time basis. She completed her training contract in 1999. After qualifying in 2001, Marlene transferred to KPMG’s Internal Audit business unit in 2002 where she was responsible for delivering risk-based, operational, and financial compliance audits. Marlene was appointed as a partner in 2007 in KPMG’s Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance business unit. In 2010 Marlene was asked to lead the Contract Compliance business unit, which is responsible for the delivery of third-party contract compliance services. In 2018, she transitioned out of this role and was appointed as the Advisory COO. She currently leads the Advisory Alliance program where she is also the Africa Alliance Lead.
