Herman joined the KPMG Forensic Team in 1995 and has been doing probity and assurance work in various capacities for the last 21 years. He has serviced clients in all industries. Herman specialises in services delivered to the financial services industry, the public sector, law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities. 

Herman was the head of the Forensic business in KPMG from 2000 to 2016. Prior to joining KPMG, Herman held a number of high level legal positions. He practised as a Senior State Advocate in the High Court of Johannesburg from 1986 to 1994. As a State Advocate, Herman appeared as State Council in various appeals heard in the High Court in Johannesburg as well as the Appeal Court of South Africa. In preparation of these appeals, Herman had
to draft the legal documents required, including Heads of Argument submitted.

Herman has conducted a number of complex forensic investigations involving the procurement of IT systems by public sector entities and State owned entities. Herman has lead various Forensic investigative assignments within the Government Procurement environment. He has also provided various types of consulting assignments within the Government Procurement space. He has also designed, developed and presented training relating to the procurement and supply chain area within Government.

Herman's more specific experience is with Forensic Investigations, Anti Money Laundering Services, Corporate Intelligence and Probity Reviews, and Fraud Risk Management and Assurance Services.
