KPMG International has been recognized as a global 'Leader' in three new ALM Intelligence reports that assess global consulting services and capabilities in the areas of Workforce Management, HR Operations, and Change Management and Communications.

ALM's latest Vanguard reports underscore KPMG's leadership position in today's increasingly competitive and high-growth HR consulting marketplace, while recognizing the noteworthy impact that KPMG's People and Change team is having with clients today.

“KPMG has distinguished itself as an industry leader in three new ALM reports that spotlight global firms deemed to be `at the top of the market' today based on capabilities, depth of expertise, service and client impact in executing end-to-end projects independently across the full spectrum of client contexts,” says Liz DeVito, Associate Director and Lead for HR Consulting Research with ALM Intelligence.

In addition to KPMG's Leader status in all three reports, the Workforce Management Consulting report cites KPMG as `Best in Class' for excellence in client capability development, while the HR Operations Consulting report recognizes KPMG as `Best in Class' for its Powered Enterprise delivery model.

Mark Spears, Global Head of People and Change at KPMG International, commented: “In today's hyper-competitive marketplace, organizations are looking to KPMG for guidance and support on critical initiatives that are transforming their businesses. We are extremely proud of the work being done to provide top tier services, capabilities and results and we are delighted to be recognized as a global leader by ALM's latest consulting reports.”

`Best in Class' client-capability development

ALM's Workforce Management Consulting report praises KPMG's workforce-shaping methodology, while also calling KPMG's client-capability development `Best in Class' and awarding highest rating for strength of services in three areas:

  • KPMG's leadership in providing workforce-shaping methodology, the report notes, “stands apart for providing a structured approach to workforce-scenario planning that leverages a combination of collaboration environments, data and KPMG assets. The methodology is notable for how it can be deployed in a non-linear fashion based on the scope of the organization transformation.”
  • Citing KPMG as `Best in Class' in client-capability development, the report notes: “KPMG's blend of immersive workshops, learning and development curriculums, and ability to co-create client-centric solutions stands out for supporting development of the right skills and capabilities to help clients sustain their workforce transformation programs.”
  • KPMG also earned highest rating for strength of services in the report's analysis of its `operating system' and `management system' design, plus `client-capability development.'

`KPMG solidifies its leadership status'

ALM's Vanguard report on HR Operations Consulting analyzes service offerings and the capabilities of firms to: unlock HR's value to the business organization, professionalize HR, and digitize HR to create a cloud-based HR service-delivery model. The report highlights KPMG's “outside-in perspective” on transformation and cites KPMG as `Best in Class' among operating systems:

  • “KPMG has strengthened its consulting value proposition for HR transformation with Change Things, a structured dialog process that brings an outside-in perspective to the transformation process and illuminates capabilities across KPMG management consulting that can be integrated into the People and Change practice's consulting solution,” the report notes. “By building a strategic capability on top of a solid technical HR capability, KPMG solidifies its leadership status.”
  • ALM's analysis of `operating systems' cites KPMG as `Best in Class,' noting that KPMG's Powered Enterprise delivery model “stands out” for “clearly translating strategies into tangible actions that can be managed at all levels.”
  • The report praises KPMG's “top-down, bottom-up approach to HR transformation as a hedge against clients focusing too narrowly on operational excellence,” and also cites a consulting approach that “allows KPMG to guide clients through the optimization continuum . . . so that HR can make better decisions about how to invest its resources.”

Change Management report praises KPMG's consulting approach

In its Vanguard report on Communications and Change Management Consulting, ALM's assessment of KPMG as a market Leader recognizes KPMG's “Change Things conversation framework” and a consulting approach that empowers clients' employees to drive organizational change:

  • “KPMG has evolved its approach by shifting the focus from process to business outcomes, using its Change Things conversation framework to refresh the connectivity between management consulting practices, so that insights and experience can be leveraged at the point of client contact. The market response has been positive, with clients citing value in their ability to better align the operating model for change with the organization's strategy and business objectives.”
  • In recognizing KPMG's consulting approach, the report states: “The firm's point of view on managing change is that the people risks inherent in any business transformation can be managed with clear communications and learning resources that empower employees to drive the change.”
