Prescribed Interest Rate for PLOIs —Q4 Increase

PLOI rate hits 5.45% for Q4 2018

​The prescribed interest rate for 2018's fourth quarter is now available. KPMG estimates that the quarterly prescribed interest rate that will be used to determine the deemed interest income inclusion from a pertinent loan or indebtedness (PLOI) will increase to 5.45% (from 5.16%) for October 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018. This rate is generally the average yield of Government of Canada 90-day Treasury Bills sold during the first month of the preceding quarter (rounded to two decimal places) plus 4%.
