Alberta's Finance Minister Joe Ceci delivered the province's 2018 budget on March 22, 2018.
The budget anticipates a deficit of $9.1 billion for the 2017-18 fiscal year, a deficit of $8.8 billion for 2018-19 and $7.9 billion for 2019-20. The government plans to continue reducing deficits until 2023-24, when it anticipates a balanced budget.
Although the budget does not include any changes to the corporate or personal tax rates, it extends the Alberta Investor and Capital Investment Tax Credits and confirms it will proceed with the recently announced Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit.
