The directive is in line with the Lagos state government’s strategy of accelerating its collection of tax revenue. Taxpayers residing or operating in Lagos that have unresolved tax liabilities may consider a voluntary assets and income declaration scheme (VAIDS) to regularise their tax position, obtain a waiver of interest and penalties on their principal tax liabilities, and avoid criminal prosecution.
