A resolution (No. 201-3931) was published in the official gazette that announces 8 September 2017 is the deadline for the first FATCA report in Panama for all information collected from 2014 to 2016. The identification number for the reporting financial institution will be the global intermediary identification number (GIIN).
The resolution also indicates the requirements for reporting Panamanian financial institutions concerning FATCA and/or CRS self-certification and lists the minimum information required in the self-certification, depending on the type of person who maintains the reportable account.
