KPMG Global Energy Institute was delighted to host on September 13th, 2015 the 5th KPMG Latin America Energy and Natural Resources Conference. The event took place at the Copacabana Palace Hotel, in Rio, and was attended by 355 people, including Government representatives, industry leaders, CEOs, CFOs, KPMG's leadership for Latin America, and members of large companies and institutions such as AES Brasil, Andrade Gutierrez, Banco do Brasil, BNDES, Brookfield, Camargo Corrêa, CEMIG, Chevron, CPFL Energia, EDP Energias, Deutsche Bank, Eletrobras, Furnas, Instituto Brasileiro de Petróleo - IBP, Odebrecht, Petrobras, Siemens, VALE, Votorantim, among others.
The Conference's purpose was to promote discussions about the challenges, prospects, trends and opportunities for the industry, and enable interactive discussions by means of researches and panels which brought to light relevant insights and topics of general interest to the attendees.
The agenda included lectures, two panels and one Question & Answers session in the morning and six parallel panel sessions and one lecture for concluding the event in the afternoon. Aiming to strengthen the relationship among attendees, there were coffee breaks, a networking lunch and a cocktail party at the end of the event.
The list of topics included highly relevant and current issues which were discussed by senior lecturers and panelist, resulting in a recognized and reliable event within the industry. The turning point and conclusion of the event came from the participation of Pedro Malan, former minister of finance and former president of Banco Central do Brasil, who delivered a lecture on the perspectives for Latin America.
