Panama: Registered company benefits

Panama’s National Assembly approved Law no. 1 that extends benefits available to companies registered with the Official Registry of the National Industry (Registro Oficial de la Industria Nacional—ROIN) to other companies that have government contracts.

The purpose of the law is to extend benefits available to companies registered with the ROIN to those companies that maintain contracts with the government (or certain other identified contracts) without first requiring these companies to submit a request to the authorities or to perform any other formality.

Law no. 1 was published in the official gazette on 19 January 2017, and was effective 20 January 2017.
