Switzerland: Consultation on introduction of AEOI

Switzerland’s Federal Department of Finance on 1 December 2016 initiated a consultation process to bring into force agreements for the automatic exchange of information (AEOI) in tax matters with the following countries or jurisdictions:

  • Mauritius

  • San Marino
  • Seychelles
  • South Africa
  • Turks and Caicos Islands
  • Uruguay

The AEOI agreements with these jurisdictions will enter into force 1 January 2018, thereby making the first transmission of data to occur in 2019. The consultation is open for feedback from the cantons, territorial associations, and industry associations until 15 March 2017.
