An economic package for 2017 presented by the executive administration to Congress in September 2016 includes various tax reform proposals.

Among the tax measures proposed in the administration’s economic package are items that would provide:

  • Tax incentives for research and development
  • Measures relating to hydrocarbons, including rules on deductions and measures for application of the arm’s length principle pursuant to the transfer pricing regime
  • Tax incentives relating to electric vehicles
  • Rules related to the value added tax (VAT) regime and electronic recordkeeping
  • Provisions affecting the taxpayer register and registration of legal representatives
