Malta: FATCA reporting by trustees

Trustees are required to provide the Commissioner for Revenue, on an annual basis, a list of trusts that they manage.

The Commissioner for Revenue in June 2016 announced by virtue of a notice, entitled “Compliance Measures relating Trusts and Submission Deadline,” that the FATCA reporting of the trusts managed by trustees is to be made for basis year 2014 onwards. The first reporting for basis years 2014 and 2015 is due 31 July 2016.
