Channel Islands: IGA-related guidance issued by Jersey

Jersey released further practical guidance in respect of reporting under the intergovernmental agreements (IGAs) with the United Kingdom and the United States ahead of the 30 June 2016 deadline.

The newly issued guidance includes an option to request an extension related to the reporting deadline for UK IGA reports and provides:

  • An extension to the reporting deadline in respect of the UK IGA to 29 July 2016 on submission of a reasoned request
  • An extension of the deadline for completion of the due diligence procedures for pre-existing accounts under the UK IGA to 31 December 2016
  • An update of the Jersey automatic exchange of information (AEOI) online portal with respect to guidance released on 18 May 2016
