Artur Runge-Metzger, Director ‘Climate Strategy, governance and emissions from non-trading sectors’, DG Climate Action of the European Commission Artur took up his current position on 1 January 2016. The current directorate covers international and EU climate strategy and economic assessment and evaluation, EU domestic legislative initiatives related to households, land transport, waste, agriculture and forestry, carbon capture, use and storage, financial instruments for EU innovation, monitoring, reporting, and verification.
Ulrich Homann, Partner Architect, C&E Engineering, Microsoft Ulrich Homann is a Partner-level architect in the Cloud and Enterprise business at Microsoft. As part of the senior engineering leadership team, Homann is responsible for enterprise scenarios and focus across the cloud and enterprise platform working on the most complex and challenging customer and partner opportunities driving structured growth for the $26 billion p.a. business. Previously Homann was the Chief Architect for Microsoft worldwide enterprise services.
Ms Marie Donnelly, Director for Renewables, Research and Innovation, Energy Efficiency, European Commission Within the Directorate General for Energy, Marie is responsible for the development of policies and actions on energy efficiency and renewable energy, the coordination of research activities in the field of energy as well as actions aiming at supporting the achievement of the 20-20-20 targets. Previously, she worked with the European Commission, in the Employment and Social Affairs Directorate General as Director for Resources and Communication.



Johan Van Bragt, Head of Business Development and Innovation Officer, Engie Benelux
Johan has held the role of Chief Business Development and Innovation Officer at Engie Benelux since January 2016 and has Masters of Law and Economics from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
Jonathan Brearley, Senior Partner, OFGEM Jonathan Brearley leads Ofgem’s important work regulating the monopoly energy networks. He has a wealth of energy sector experience, having led the Department of Energy and Climate’s electricity market reforms.
Julio Castro, EVP Regulation, Iberdrola Group Julio started his career at Red Eléctrica (Power System Operator) in 1991. In 1998 he joined Iberdrola as analyst in the Strategic Planning Area. In 2001 he was appointed Gas Logistics Director, responsible for maritime transportation and access to the grids (TPA, new regas terminals and pipelines like Medgaz). He also served as Vice President responsible for gas trading and shipping on a global basis within the company, gas business Chairman in the US and Canada, board member of Iberdrola Energy USA, Iberdrola Canada Energy Services, Enstor, Medgaz and Iberian Gas Hub, and Vice Chairman of the Spanish Gas Association (Sedigas). Currently he is Chief Regulatory Officer of Iberdrola Group.
Holger Goetze, CEO Chorus Clean Energy Holger Goetze is CEO of CHORUS Clean Energy. He graduated in business administration from Cooperative State University Stuttgart, Germany. He started his career holding various positions at a credit insurance company and a German subsidiary of an international Bank, before assuming responsibility for the real estate and large-scale plants business in North and West Germany at a leading German leasing company. Since 2012, Holger has been Managing Director of the CHORUS Group.
Gunnar Groebler, CEO Unit Renewables, Vattenfall GmbH Gunnar Groebler is CEO Unit Renewables of Vattenfall GmbH. He is a degreed engineer from RWTH Aachen University in Germany. Prior to stepping in to his key role as CEO of Vattenfall Renewables, Gunnar has held various corporate positions across the organization. After starting in Corporate Development of Vattenfall, he soon became head of Purchasing. Gunnar Groebler held various positions as head of business units, in Corporate Restructuring, Mergers & Acquisitions and Hydro Germany of Vattenfall. As vice president business unit Renewables he was responsible for the region Continental and UK. Prior to his current position he was senior vice president business area wind of Vattenfall GmbH.
Steven De Gruyter, Head of Power Generation, European Investment Bank Steven has been in his role with the European Investment Bank since March 2013. In 2004, he has achieved a Masters of Business Administration from INSEAD.
Shinichiro Kengaku, Senior Exec., Tepco Managing Executive Officer Tokyo Electric Power Co Holdings Inc, PRESENT. Executive Officer Tokyo Electric Power Co Inc, 4/2013-4/2016. Group Manager Tokyo Electric Power Co Inc, 7/2005-4/2013.anagement level positions with a 28 year career in Tokyo Electric Power Company Inc., distinguished by promotion to Managing Executive Officer for public relations & corporate communications, and overseas business, as well as to Chief of the New Growth Task Force. Since a tragic nuclear accident involving the company, he has been devoted to crisis management and is currently accountable for certain special projects regarding the reconstruction of Fukushima, as well as reputation risk management in external communications. He holds concurrent posts as an external board member of Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation, one of the largest wind & photovoltaic generation project developers and operators, as well as of SPARX Group Co., Ltd, an independent asset management company. He also has experience of working overseas.
Urban Keussen, CEO Tennet TSO Urban Keussen is CEO of Tennet TSO GmbH. Urban holds a doctorate in Applied Physics from University of Kiel in Germany. In 1993 he started his career at PreussenElektra in the field of grid planning and grid operation. After the fusion of PreussenElektra and Bayernwerk AG to E.ON, from 2003 on Urban Keussen was a manager for E.ON Net, responsible for the technical sector. Between 2010 and 2014, Urban Keussen was Senior Vice President for E.ON SE and responsible for the sector technology and innovation. Since 15.October 2014 he is Vice Chairman Executive Board TenneT Holding B.V. and Chairman Board TenneT TSO GmbH.

Paul Massara, CEO Northstar Solar Paul Massara is CEO of Northstar Solar Ltd and Member of the Committee on Fuel Poverty advising the Secretary of State for Energy on energy strategy. He holds a Master in Corporate Finance from the London Business School. Paul Massara co-founded Oxford House Research in 2010 that worked with the Oxford University`s Politics Department. In 2011, he joined RWE npower as CCO and held various positions on board level, as Country Chair for RWE in the UK to CEO of RWE npower and member of the Executive Committee of RWE AG.
David Mesonero, Corp. Devel. Managing Director, Gamesa David is a Managing Director at Gamesa Venture Capital. He also serves as the Director of Business Development at Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica S.A. He served as a Director of SkyBuilt Power, Inc.
Javier Uriarte Monereo, General Manager of Market Iberia, Endesa He began his professional career at SC Johnson’s Wax as an Assistant Product Manager and was later named Product Manager. Joined Tempo España as the Marketing Manager (1988- 1990). Subsequently he joined McKinsey & Company, where he rose to the position of Senior Engagement Manager, and from 1994 until joining the Endesa Group, he held the position of General Assistant Manager at Banesto. In addition, he taught Sales Management at the Instituto de Empresa from 1985 to 1990 and held the position of Director of the School of Marketing. Since 1998 he has served as the head of General Marketing Division.
Martin Neubert, SVP, Chief Strategy Officer, Dong Energy Martin is responsible for Strategy, Regulatory Affairs, Business Development as well as Market & Project Development. Martin joined DONG Energy in 2008 and previously held senior positions including Head of Group M&A at DONG Energy as well as Head of Partnerships and M&A in the Wind Power business unit where he has overseen 13 of DONG Energy’s offshore wind partnerships with institutional investors in the past 8 years, resulting in a total of more than EUR 5bn in recycled capital. Prior to joining DONG Energy, Martin worked in both private equity and consulting. Martin is a member of DONG Energy Wind Power’s Executive Committee.
Gordon Parsons, Division Director, Macquarie  
Shamus Rae, KPMG Lead UK, Cognitive Automation Shamus has over 23 years’ experience in Back Office transformation cross-industry and a broad in-field knowledge of undertaking Operational Strategy work for various global clients. In 1993 he disrupted the BPO industry by building the first multi-function, multi-client BPO business. With the emergence of advanced automation Shamus is now leading the Automation Proposition covering everything from advanced robotics all the way through to Cognitive Computing.
Divya Reddy, Director, Global ENR, Eurasia Group Divya focuses on global gas markets, North American energy policy, climate change and alternative energy, and metals and mining. In particular, Divya analyzes the impact of political and policy developments in various countries on commodities markets and investment environments. She also leads Eurasia Group's coverage of Australian politics, and follows US energy policy developments from Washington.
Boris Schucht, CEO 50Hertz Boris Schucht is CEO of 50Hertz since 2010. He graduated as mechanical engineer from RWTH Aachen University in Germany. As Deputy Department Head, he was responsible for Corporate Development for Vattenfall Europe AG. Then he became Managing Director for Vattenfall Europe Venture GmbH in Berlin. Afterwards, Boris worked as Commercial Managing Director at WEMAG AG in Schwerin.
