The 2016 budget for the province of Prince Edward Island was delivered on 19 April 2016. There are no changes to the province’s individual (personal) or corporate tax rates.
The budget includes a measure to increase the harmonized sales tax (HST) to 15%, up from 14%. Another measure provides for the repeal of the real property transfer tax for first-time home buyers. Tax relief for low-income taxpayers is included.
