Bulgaria: Tax agency inquiries, use of company assets

Bulgaria’s tax authorities have been requesting information from companies concerning tax issues relating to the personal use of company assets. Companies have been required to clarify the value added tax (VAT) treatment of the goods used and the services provided for the personal use of the company owners and employees or for purposes other than those related to the economic activity of the business.

In some instances, the tax authorities are requiring written explanation of company policies regarding personal use of company assets in future periods.
