BEPS focus in Africa

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) today reported on this week’s regional network meeting on the base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) project. This BEPS meeting was convened in Dakar, Senegal.

As reported in an OECD release, the event in Dakar was hosted by the Senegal revenue agency (Direction Générale des Impôts et des Domaines), and focused on the BEPS reports and on the “inclusive framework” announced this week—that is, the "BEPS associates" framework in which all interested countries and jurisdictions will be able to participate, on an equal footing with OECD and G20 member countries, to work on the remaining standard-setting under the BEPS project, as well as on the review and monitoring of the implementation of the BEPS package.
