Mexico: FATCA reporting due date

While the U.S. Treasury Department and IRS extended the due date for submissions of certain information reportable under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) from 30 September 2015 to 30 September 2016, for information relating to 2014 and 2015, this extension did not directly concern the due date in Mexico.

The deadline established by the Mexican tax administration (Servicio de Administración Tributaria—SAT) was 15 September 2015.  However, there are reports that the SAT is considering an extension of the due date for reporting entities that failed to report information regarding FATCA.
