Cayman Islands: FATCA portal closes 28 August

The Cayman Islands Tax Information Authority announced that the Cayman AEOI Portal would close after 5 p.m. (Cayman time zone) on 28 August 2015, to allow the tax authority to facilitate and prepare data that will be provided to the IRS. All entities that have yet to submit their 2014 FATCA reports need to consider taking immediate steps to comply with the FATCA rules.

The tax authority also indicated that the Cayman AEOI Portal may be available intermittently during the time that testing and transmission to the IRS are conducted (i.e., beginning 28 August and through the month of September 2015) and that the Cayman AEOI Portal will be operational as normal from October 2015 onwards.
