John is the Deputy Chairman of KPMG International since 1 October 2013. He is a member of the Global Board of KPMG and the Global Management Team.

John has extensive experience advising multinational clients on how they can drive growth, reduce risk, and anticipate the opportunities presented by a rapidly changing business environment. His current and previous positions of responsibility and extensive experience with multinational clients, in particular of doing business in Europe, India and Latin America, provide him with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by companies competing on the international stage and of the prospects presented by emerging markets and new technologies.

In Spain, his home for more than 30 years, John is active in the business and arts communities. He serves on the protectorate of The Spanish Royal Opera Theatre and is a Board Member of the Queen Sophia Museum in Madrid. He is a Member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland and the Spanish Official Register of Auditors. He chairs the International Relations Committee of the Spanish Confederation of Directors and Executives (CEDE).
