Barbara is the Leader of KPMG’s America’s Regulatory Center Excellence that generates thought leadership for KMPG in the US regarding a range of cutting-edge regulatory policy issues including enterprise-wide compliance, safety and soundness, broker/dealer, asset management, consumer compliance, insurance, and other regulatory risk management issues. Barbara is a recognized national and international leader regarding a range of regulatory policy issues.
She has delivered speeches on five continents and has published both book chapters and multiple law review articles on a broad range of issues, particularly regulatory capital, cross-border regulatory policy, and derivatives policy.
In addition, Barbara has substantial experience leading and coordinating technical regulatory policy initiatives involving senior risk management professionals and senior executives at the world’s largest financial institutions.
She has led a range of regulatory change projects, including projects within in the U.S. government in her former capacity as the U.S. Treasury Attaché to the European Union and, prior to that, as Senior Counsel to the Financial Services Committee at the U.S. House of Representatives.
Prior to joining KPMG in 2016, Barbara was an entrepreneur providing extensive subject matter knowledge and experience to large financial market participants, focused on policy trend projection analysis regarding financial regulatory policy and geo-economic policy development at the global level.
She is also actively involved in supporting the local Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington.
