Joel has 30 years of distinguished experience in the public sector in Canada and overseas, and has developed diverse experience in the sport, recreation and health sectors on behalf of public sector organizations. Joel joined KPMG in 1999 following a successful career in the public service that included senior management positions with Health Canada and the Government of Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC). Joel is a former Director of Finance and Planning, Fitness and Amateur Sport Branch, Health Canada and a former Olympic athlete. He is on the Board of the Directors of Olympians Canada and has served as a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee.
Joel’s current work focuses on the interdependencies between Games-operations and Games-related infrastructure (e.g. Sport Venues, Athletes Villages and civic infrastructure) and developing legacy business plans for multi-sport games facilities and venues.
