José Luis has always wanted to make a positive impact on society, having started his professional career campaigning for the Red Cross in Spain where he served as Director of the Region of Madrid and then National Director of the Red Cross Youth.
He worked in banking and set up two companies before joining KPMG in 2003. He is the Global Head of KPMG Sustainability Services and a Partner at KPMG in Spain. In his KPMG consulting work, he advises major Spanish companies on how to incorporate the risks and opportunities of environmental and social megatrends into their corporate strategies. “Addressing sustainability is an integral part of being a successful business today and essential to building long-term value,” he says.
In his spare time, José Luis teaches corporate responsibility, government and management classes at various Spanish universities, including both the IE and ESADE Business Schools and the Autonomous University of Madrid.
