Clive has extensive experience in financial services regulation and supervision, having spent 18 years at the Bank of England and 10 years at the FSA, most recently as Managing Director, Retail Markets and a member of the FSA’s Board and Executive Committee. He has spent the last six years advising financial services firms and overseas regulatory organizations, consulting for the IMF, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and leading programs for the Toronto Centre for Leadership in Financial Supervision. Clive has been a part-time senior advisor to KPMG in the UK since September 2010. While at the FSA, Clive was responsible as Managing Director, Retail Markets, for the supervision of retail financial institutions, including the major UK banks and life insurance companies, and for the Treating Customers Fairly and Retail Distribution Review initiatives.

Advised a major regulatory organization on risk-based supervision and the setting of individual capital requirements for banks

Program leader and author of distance learning modules for the Toronto Centre for Leadership in Financial Supervision, including on corporate governance and on macro-prudential surveillance.
