Alistair, a luminary in the energy world and former CEO of Ofgem for ten years, joined KPMG as a Partner and UK Chairman of Power & Utilities in 2013. He is returning to the firm where he trained as a Chartered Accountant before progressing to become an award winning energy sector analyst and head of research for banks in London and New York and, eventually, Chief Executive Officer of Ofgem the UK's gas and electricity markets regulator. He is a Council member of Durham University and is Chair of the University's Remuneration Committee. Previously he was a Non Executive Director for Scottish Water and was a member of the UK Energy Research Partnership (UKERP). He was appointed CBE in December 2008. Before Ofgem Alistair worked in the financial sector with leading investment banks, as both an award winning analyst and as Head of Research, in London and New York.
