Amie Ahanchian has more than 16 years of experience in global import and export compliance matters. Amie acquired her customs and trade experience through assisting clients in diverse industries with developing strategy-based approaches in the following key areas:

  • Trade Compliance and Internal Controls: Amie actively advises multinational companies on global import, export, and sanctions risk management. Amie assists clients in vetting risks through the assessment of clients’ trade processes, identification of compliance gaps and inefficiencies, and analysis of areas of potential exposure. Amie further supports clients’ compliance objectives with implementing plans of corrective actions for identified risks, documenting efficient and scalable trade processes, developing enhanced import and export controls, and establishing an effective trade strategy.
  • Customs Duty Planning and Tariff Mitigation Strategies: Amie routinely provides guidance on strategic opportunities to implement customs savings and duty planning strategies like free trade agreements, duty drawback, and first sale for export. Amie specializes in Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) implementation and has assisted many companies with quantifying zone benefits, and establishing compliant and efficient zones.
  • Trade Automation and Global Trade Technology Solutions: Amie regularly advises clients on assessing the need for trade technology, system selection, data and process evaluation, system implementation and development of business processes supporting new automation, and post-implementation testing, training, analytics, and efficiency reviews.
