Rebuilding the BVI

Recovery and moving forward

As a leadership team & the KPMG values we are committed to, we are now looking to the future & to helping re-build our community & lives in the BVI.

As a leadership team we are now helping re-build our community.

We are committed to our communities

KPMG have dedicated themselves to assisting in community projects that directly impact those most affected by Hurricane Irma and Maria. KPMG and it’s staff have spent many hours assisting with:

  • Rebuilding the horse farm enclosures;
  • litter cleanups on roads and beaches;
  • painting of public schools;
  • Assisting local animal welfare societies through transport and man power;
  • cutting away and removal of broken roofs and house debris from public streets and homes;
  • Restoring badly damaged private businesses and homes and enabling their recovery.

KPMG and its staff are making a real impact and building a legacy from the recovery efforts that will enable a united and prosperous future for all in the BVI once again.

To see more of our initiatives listed below:

  • Supporting the “Food for Kids” programme by cooking and distributing food to Children the week following the storm
  • Painting at Bellevue Primary
  • Repairs and restoration of local restaurant

KPMG in the Cayman Islands, Christmas Partner/Director Raffle

During the festive season, KPMG in the Cayman Islands traditionally hosts an internal Partner/Director raffle as an opportunity to give back to the community and employees. The Firm’s Partners and Directors generously donate prizes and employees contribute by purchasing tickets for their chance to win. The Partner and Director’s select a charity or relevant cause to which the proceeds from the ticket sales are to be donated. The raffle has always been very popular with our employees. Some of the prizes give employees the opportunity to engage with the Partners and Directors in a more social setting outside of the office whilst others are more traditional gifts and experiences. A typical prize would be the Super Bowl party that Andy Stepaniuk, our Firm’s Head of Audit hosts at his home every year. In 2016 we were able to raise $12,800 which was donated to Feed our Future, Literacy Is For Everyone (“LIFE”) and the Haiti Relief efforts. This year, we are pleased to partner with our BVI colleagues with all funds raised from ticket sales going to support jurisdictions affected by the devastating impacts of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria. The raffle launches internally on November 30th with prize winners being drawn and notified on December 15th. This year there are 28 prizes donated by the Partners and Directors which include: Air miles to the BVI and 3 day sailing trip on a luxury catamaran for 4 captained by Russel and Jacques, 2 nights stay at the Kimpton Seafire Resort ($1,000 value), and much more!
