KPMG LLP today announced an expansion of its capabilities leveraging the Thomson Reuters (TSX/NYSE: TRI) ONESOURCE™ platform to offer a market-tested set of direct tax tools that leverage the ONESOURCE suite of applications. This new set of capabilities addresses issues of accuracy, speed, control and compliance in a centralized manner.

This offering is delivered by KPMG Tax professionals within KPMG Ignition, where KPMG’s multidisciplinary teams design, build, and deliver digitally enabled technology solutions for clients using the Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE suite of technologies.

“As organizations transform, so has the role of the Chief Tax Officer,” said Jeffrey C. LeSage, KPMG's Americas Vice Chairman, Tax. “Through KPMG’s long-standing alliance with Thomson Reuters, we are equipping tax leaders with the tools, technology and global experience to help them transform their tax functions and become true strategic advisors to the business.”

KPMG has been part of the Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Certified Implementer Program since 2010 and provides a complete set of services and technology to help clients in the areas of Direct Tax, Indirect Tax and Global Trade Management.

“We are very excited to work with KPMG Ignition,” said Joe Harpaz, Managing Director, Corporate segment, of the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. “Through this participation, KPMG and corporate clients are able to leverage ONESOURCE to drive improvements in the tax function ― something that is essential during these times of change in U.S. and global tax regulations. Tax technology is a key component to supporting organizations facing this level of unprecedented change.”

Again this year, KPMG is a Platinum Elite sponsor of SYNERGY, the premier Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE event for tax insights and technology, held in Nashville, TN, November 12 ‒ November 15.

During this year’s event, Thomson Reuters honored Joe Habak, Tax Senior Manager, Technology Solutions at KPMG Ignition, with its Taxologist Award in the Certified Implementer Program category.
