KPMG’s New York office was ranked #3 in Great Place to Work and FORTUNE’s first-ever ranking of the Best Workplaces in New York large companies list.


The list found that of the nearly 2000 employees surveyed, 91 percent say KPMG is a great workplace, with top rankings from employees in the categories of great challenges (96%), atmosphere (96%), rewards (94%), pride (96%), communication (95%) and great bosses (95%).
Rankings were based on employee surveys and among the top organizations:

  • An average of 94 percent of employees say their workplaces are friendly and welcoming
  • An average of 92 percent of employees say "people care about each other here"
  • Average revenue growth is 24 percent
  • An average of 90 percent of employees say they're willing to give extra at work


“This recognition shows that, when you serve the best companies in the world and focus on a culture of innovation and inclusiveness, and provide people with opportunities for growth and advancement, it pays off. I’m proud and gratified that their responses have placed us so high on this prestigious list,” said Bob Garrett, KPMG New York office managing partner.


New York's leading employers also offer employees ways to balance high-power schedules and offset the city's long commute times. Almost three quarters of the Best Workplaces in New York offer flexible scheduling, and even more have telecommuting policies.

About the Best Workplaces in New York

Great Place to Work surveyed nearly 137,000 employees from Great Place to Work-Certified(TM) organizations with locations in New York State and the New York City metropolitan area. We analyzed how positively employees rated their organizations on more than 50 different metrics, including management transparency, professional development, meaningful work, promotion equity and the generosity of benefit programs. We also analyzed demographic patterns to ensure they were creating great workplaces for all employees, regardless of who they are or what they do for the organization. All surveys were anonymous. Results were normalized for organizations' size and complexity and had at least a 95% confidence level with a 5% margin of error.
