KPMG’s global network of firms was recognized as an ALM Intelligence Vanguard Leader and one of the top organizations in this space in the recently released Sourcing & Procurement Consulting report by ALM Intelligence (formerly Kennedy Consulting Research & Advisory). The report offers a comprehensive analysis and assessment of the offerings and practice standings around process excellence, operational excellence, asset excellence and transformation, of three dozen procurement operations consulting organizations. KPMG was seen as one of a few select organizations to earn the prestigious ALM Intelligence Vanguard Leader recognition.

In characterizing KPMG’s strengths, ALM Intelligence stated, “KPMG combines the specialization and flexibility of a boutique with a breadth of a global multiservice platform. The firm exhibits strength across the capability spectrum, with notable expertise combining procure-to-pay process improvements with appropriate asset automation.”

Improving procurement operations and organizational excellence is essential for helping clients transition as a strategic partner to internal business units. Erich L. Gampenrieder, KPMG International’s Global Head of Operations Advisory and Head of Global Operations Center of Excellence, says, “The key challenge for CPOs is to better partner with the internal business units to create value for the enterprise. KPMG professionals increasingly see procurement organizations develop key account managers who can build the interface to the business units and craft an efficiency and risk agenda informed by an understanding of customer requirements.”

Investing in this transition and transforming procurement processes requires the right team. “Consultants are good at analytics and moderating and implementing change.” But as Marcus Schueller, Partner, KPMG in Germany, explains, “Trainers need to combine a disposition characterized by more sensitivity and the ability to interact and listen with the sort of functional skills that come from real world practitioner experience.” KPMG professionals employ a comprehensive and tailored procurement academy training program led by former procurement professionals with industry experience.

ALM Intelligence (formerly Kennedy Consulting Research & Advisory), is a leading market research firm which has exclusively been analyzing and researching the global consulting industry since 1970. The full report is available for purchase at ALM Intelligence.
