Deadline is extended by one month for income tax return filing and payment

The General Tax Authority (GTA) issued Circular No. 2 extending the deadline by one month, until 31 May 2023, for income tax return filing and payment for entities with years ended 31 December 2022.

The extension does not apply to companies operating in the field of petroleum operations and petrochemical industries. Those taxpayers must file their FY2022 tax returns and pay the tax liability by 30 April 2023.

In addition, the extension does not apply to taxpayers with financial years ending on a date different from 31 December 2022.
