A release from the Canadian government provides a list of products, in three tables, subject to the additional customs tariffs (surtaxes).

  • The list of goods or products in the Tables 1, 2, and 3 were drawn from original lists released on 31 May 2018.
  • Goods from Table 1 will be subject to a 25% surtax.
  • Goods from Table 2 and Table 3 will be subject to a 10% surtax.
  • These countermeasures will only apply to goods originating from the United States—that is, those goods considered to be those eligible to be marked as a good of the United States in accordance with the Determination of Country of Origin for the Purposes of Marking Goods (NAFTA Countries) Regulations
  • These countermeasures have an effective date of 1 July 2018 and will remain in place until the United States eliminates trade-restrictive measures against Canadian steel and aluminum products.
  • The countermeasures will not apply to U.S. goods that are in transit to Canada on the day on which these countermeasures entered into force.
  • The list of products in Tables 1, 2 and 3 are to be read in conjunction with the Schedule to Canada's Customs Tariff.
