IRS updates FATCA XML Schema v2.0 sample files

The IRS today announced that several FATCA report samples files using FATCA XML Schema v2.0 have been updated.

According to the IRS release, the samples include a test packet, void, amended and corrected files, and a report using the competent authority request (CAR) element. 

The IRS stated that the files may be helpful during the testing period, but cautioned financial institutions not to transmit sample files as test files.
