The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on 12 July 2016 conducted a “tax talks” event at which the status of the base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) project was reviewed. The topics concerned:

  • The G20 tax symposium to be held on 23 July 2016 in Chengdu, China 
  • Pending discussion drafts expected on  interest deductibility in the banking and insurance sectors (to be released 28 July 2016) and on branch mismatch arrangements (scheduled for release in the week of 8 August 2016), and a public consultation on attribution of profits to permanent establishments and revised guidance on profit splits set for 11-12 October 2016
