Quality assurance with an enlightened perspective

Quality assurance with an enlightened perspective

Over our many years as a provider of quality audit services to the Federal government, KPMG has gained a unique perspective into the risks, pressures, and challenges facing the inspector general (IG) community. Many of our professionals have experience working in a government environment and leading complex audit engagements of federal agencies.

Our experience

Over the past 20 years, KPMG has made sustained and substantial investments in its federal audit practice. Today, we have more than 350 professionals nationwide dedicated to providing audit services to federal agencies. Our substantial team gives us the capacity to meet unexpected staffing demands and helps to better meet audit deadlines. We also have a large workforce of qualified auditors with government industry credentials, like the Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) designations, as well as requisite security clearances.

KPMG is in the forefront of audit practices as we help draft audit standards and requirements, and are an active member of many industry taskforces and associations, including the Association of Government Accountants (AGA), the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC), and the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB). We also frequently interact with members of the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) and the CFO Council, and provide insights on new initiatives and programs.

In addition to the skills and knowledge of our partners and professionals, KPMG’s capabilities are reinforced by our technology and our data-enabled audit methodology. This methodology provides us with the agility to adapt to evolving mission requirements and changing demands placed on government organizations.
