Scott focuses on the taxation of transactions involving U.S. and foreign corporations, including formation of corporate ventures, reorganizations and other restructurings of corporate enterprises, corporate distributions and liquidations, and corporate acquisitions and dispositions. In addition, Scott has advises various clients on the tax issues associated with distressed and bankrupt debt restructurings, net operating loss limitations, consolidated return attribution reduction requirements, and discharge of indebtedness income. Scott joined KPMG New York in 1997 in the Mergers & Acquisitions Tax practice and moved to KPMG Chicago's tax practice in 1998. Scott has taught a number of U.S. tax courses for KPMG and client personnel.
