Gavin Geminder

National Sector Leader, Private Equity

KPMG in the U.S.

Gavin serves as the National Managing Principal – Growth & Strategy to help drive growth and strategy initiatives for KPMG with a focus on innovation, building trust and delivering quality service. Prior to this he was the U.S. National Sector Leader for Private Equity, where he was responsible for overseeing and supporting great teams as they deployed the one firm go-to-market model against our highly valued Private Equity clients.

Gavin also serves as the Global Lead Partner for KKR, a position he has held since 2007.  In this role he leads the build out and maintenance of key relationships, and supervises a team of KPMG professionals across the world serving KKR and its portfolio companies, with his focus being on delivering a differentiated yet valuable client experience.

Gavin originally joined our KPMG Hong Kong member firm in 1996, transferred to our KPMG UK member firm in 1999, and three years later returned to our Hong Kong member firm as Partner and Head of Corporate Finance and Private Equity for Hong Kong and China. In 2007, Gavin joined the KPMG U.S. member firm in our New York office as an Advisory Principal with Deal Advisory, before relocating to San Francisco in 2011.

Gavin also serves on the Executive Leadership Team of the Bay Area Heart Walk for the American Heart Association, and is the Partner Champion for the event out in the San Francisco office. He also served as the local office lead for Corporate Responsibility from 2013 to 2016.

Gavin received his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and finance from Manchester Metropolitan University.
