KPMG in the U.S.

Steve is the LatAm Chief Operating Officer, serving as a key resource to the Regional COO and Latin America Cluster Leaders. In this role, he helps drive a region-wide transformation, developing the approach and deployment of a regional shared services model and service delivery centers. He also guides the execution of the One Americas Initiative; oversees the development and execution of regional investments and financial planning; and supports the execution of the region’s talent acquisition strategy.

Professional and industry experience

Previously, Steve was the Chief Operating Officer for KPMG’s Transaction and Cross-Border Services group, comprising International Tax, M&A Tax and Economic and Valuation Services. Earlier, Steve served as the Tax practice Chief Talent Officer for KPMG in the U.S., focusing on the development and execution of the firm’s Tax talent strategy. His responsibilities included differentiating KPMG’s recruiting efforts, transforming how KPMG’s professionals are trained, developing innovative career management tools, ensuring a diverse and inclusive environment, and driving a proactive coaching culture for approximately 8,000 partners and professionals across the U.S. Tax practice.

Steve is also a Senior Partner in KPMG’s Global Transfer Pricing Services practice – leading this group from 2006 to 2011, while also managing global transfer pricing projects for major multinational clients. Steve’s more than 25 years of transfer pricing experience also includes five years working internationally in the Asia-Pacific region, where he led the KPMG ASPAC Region’s Transfer Pricing practice. He also spent five years heading KPMG’s Economic and Valuation Services practice in the United States.

 

Education and qualifications

Steve received his BA in economics, magna cum laude, from Boston College in 1988, and his MBA from Georgetown University in 1993.
