Anthony Doughty is a Managing Director in KPMG’s Economic & Valuation Services practice. He has more than 20 years of experience in performing valuations for firms in the consumer and industrial products, life sciences, and financial services industries. Anthony focuses on complex security and business enterprise valuations. These studies have been performed for a variety of purposes

Professional and industry experience

Anthony has worked on a wide range of valuation assignments including valuing intangible assets, business enterprises, financial instruments, and stock options/incentive plans.

For example:

  • Extensive business valuation experience that has involved acquisitions, divestitures, tax planning, and financial reporting.
  • Performed a number of ASC 805 purchase price allocations in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer and industrial products valuing assets including trademarks, customer relationships, patents, technology, IPR&D, earnouts/contingent consideration, and non-compete agreements.
  • Led teams to develop business enterprise values for multi-national companies for tax purposes that included valuing legal entities and their underlying assets.
  • Performed valuations of employee stock options/incentive plans (ASC 718), preferred stock, and warrants using various models including the Black-Scholes Option Pricing Model, binomial model, and Monte Carol simulations.
  • Valued a number of development and early stage enterprise entities. Valued businesses and various classes of securities consistent with the AICPA Task Force’s recommended methodologies.
