Rod is KPMG’s Nations Tax Leader for Power and Utilities and is located in the Houston office. He has more than 30 years of experience working with energy companies with various tax and industrial issues. Rod has extensive knowledge in the analysis of tax issues associated with investor owned utilities and independent power entities. Some of the issues he has assisted clients with include FAS 109 (including industry specific FAS 109 issues), FIN 48,restructuring of power purchase agreements, contribution in aid of construction issues, fuel contract restructuring, entity formation, partnership planning including special allocations and carried interests, mergers and acquisitions and international expansion.
