James Lumb
James Lumb

James is an Advisory Director and leads the Restructuring business in the North East of England. James advises corporates, lenders and stakeholders in financial restructuring and transactions. He has experience in a broad range of sectors, including financial services, retail and construction and is the Restructuring sector specialist for the North of England for Property. James joined KPMG in 2000 and is a Fellow of the ICAEW.

Lorna Ford
Lorna Ford

Lorna joined KPMG in 2006 and after starting her career in the audit department, transferred to Deal Advisory in 2009. Lorna works with clients facing issues of financial stress, advising companies stakeholders and managing formal restructuring engagements. Lorna works in all sectors, and with businesses of varying size and scale.

Paul Dumbell
Paul Dumbell

Paul joined KPMG in 1989 and is a licensed insolvency practitioner. Throughout his career, Paul has undertaken assignments across the spectrum of Restructuring services including business reviews, financial restructuring, accelerated sales processes and corporate insolvencies. Paul operates across most sectors with a particular focus on construction, retail and manufacturing.

Andy Stone
Andy Stone

Andy has been a part of the KPMG team for 10 years. Prior to joining KPMG, Andy led the finance function of a global logistics business, giving him invaluable experience of being on the “Management” side of the equation. Andy specialises in working with Directors and other stakeholders to advise on complex problems, help improve performance and generate more cash.

David Costley-Wood
David Costley-Wood

David has spent his career advising companies with a wide variety of issues including profit improvement, crisis cash management and dealing with difficult stakeholders. David works across a range of sectors with a particular focus on sport and leisure, manufacturing and public sector.

Rebekah Ingham
Rebekah Ingham

Rebekah is an Assistant Manager in the Restructuring business based in the North West of England. Rebekah works with a range of corporates, lenders and stakeholders in supporting businesses through funding pressures and creditor pressures. She has both advisory and insolvency experience across a diverse range of sectors, including public sector, e-commerce and consumer goods. Rebekah joined KPMG in 2014, passing her final ICAEW exams in 2017.

Howard Smith
Howard Smith

Howard is one of the leading restructuring professionals in the North of England. In addition to his 25 years in Big 4 practice, he has also spent 5 years in industry as a Finance Director. He understands, having personally experienced, the challenges facing mid-market and SME corporates acting as a company side advisor and takes a “hands on/sleeves rolled up” approach in all cases. Particular sector expertise includes retail, construction, engineering and IT, but with over 1,000 engagements he is able to advise in almost any situation.

Darrel King
Darrel King

Darrel has been an enduring presence in KPMG’s Northern practice, advising and supporting dozens of companies facing some form of financial stress or distress. Darrel is typically found criss-crossing the region, meeting businesses of all sizes and sectors facing creditor or cash flow pressures. He has a passion for uncovering and articulating underlying issues and ascertaining how KPMG can support our clients.
