Senior appointments for KPMG’s cyber security practice

KPMG UK’s cyber security practice has announced the promotion of Matthew Martindale to partner and David Ferbrache to chief technology officer.

As partner, Matthew Martindale will lead the cyber security work for clients in the insurance and investment management markets. Matthew joined KPMG in 2000 and has been involved in delivering cyber security advisory and assurance engagements to clients in financial services, oil and gas, telecommunications, government, manufacturing and consumer goods. He has extensive global experience across a range of services and has previously led KPMG’s penetration testing team and certification and assurance team. Matthew also worked as the Chief Information Security Officer for an oil and gas super major.

In his new role, David Ferbrache will lead on cyber strategy, innovation, development of cyber technologies and thought leadership. He will oversee the delivery of technical services across cyber particularly into financial services clients, including the work of the KPMG ethical hacking team. David has over 30 years of experience in technology risk and information security, working at the most senior levels of government to formulate cyber policy, drive programme delivery and lead international engagement. Prior to working for KPMG, David was the Head of Cyber and Space at the Ministry of Defence, and was made an OBE for his contribution to national security.
