KPMG has announced that it has appointed Marco Schwartz as head of Equity Capital Markets (ECM) in the UK.
Marco Schwartz joined KPMG effective 7 November 2016 and will be based in London, reporting jointly to Sanjay Thakkar, head of Deal Advisory UK and Ralf Nachtigall, head of Equity Capital Markets EMA (Europe, Middle East, Africa and India region).
Commenting on Mr Schwartz’s appointment, Sanjay Thakkar, head of Deal Advisory for KPMG in the UK, said: “Since setting up our Equity Capital Markets advisory business in 2015 and having recently advised on two major ECM transactions of approximately €500m each, KPMG has great momentum in the ECM arena and we are delighted that Marco is now joining this successful team.
“The overall market opportunity in Equity Capital Markets advisory is very significant and Marco will be responsible for driving the deployment of our capabilities in this field for the UK market.”
Marco Schwartz joins KPMG from Barclays, where he was a Managing Director in Equity Capital Markets for many years. Prior to his role with Barclays, Mr Schwartz worked at Deutsche Bank. Over his career, he has held numerous ECM leadership roles in the UK, CEEMEA and Asian region.
