Gill has a wealth of experience within the education sector and was until recently the Vice President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs at the University of Surrey. Prior to this role, Gill has held positions at academic institutions including the University of Salford, the University of Durham and King’s College, the University of London. Gill started her professional career as a secondary school teacher before moving into higher education through a role as a Senior Research Fellow at Canterbury Christ Church College.
In addition to her academic roles, Gill has held positions on high profile advisory groups and committees, and is currently on the Council of the All-Party Parliamentary University Group, the HEA National DVC/PVC Network for Teaching and Learning and the Teaching Excellence and Student Opportunity Steering Advisory Committee, amongst others.
Bringing significant value to her role at KPMG, Gill has a vast range of national and international consultancy experience advising high profile educational and other public sector institutions. Gill is also very actively involved in the national Women in Physics group, which aims to promote science and technology among women and girls by giving seminars and nationwide talks.
Gill will work alongside KPMG’s growing education practice across a range of areas, including on both new and existing transformation and advisory projects; proposition development; and in bringing her perspective to the services the firm provides across the more than 120 universities it currently works with.
