Marianne Fallon, KPMG head of corporate affairs, comments on the government’s introduction of a levy on large UK employers to fund new apprenticeship schemes.
“The introduction of an “apprenticeship levy” highlights the Government’s commitment to expanding routes to entry for all UK businesses and investing in UK talent. We as a firm have long seen creating a diverse and innovative workforce as a priority not only for UK corporations, but for society as a whole.
“Recognition of this from The Chancellor will provide a shot in the arm for small businesses whilst emphasising continued support from large UK organisations. KPMG fully supports this move to champion apprenticeship schemes and looks forward to receiving more in-depth information in the spending review later this year.”
