Winners receive holiday vouchers up to £3,000 as part of inaugural Bravo Awards scheme.
KPMG has launched its first internal awards in April this year to reward and recognise excellence among the firm’s 2,500 strong Central Services team. Around a fifth of KPMG’s total headcount are support staff, and include secretarial, IT, security, finance, legal, marketing, communications, facilities and other non-fee-earning personnel.
The Bravo Awards are designed to reward those staff who have gone above and beyond their everyday activities, and have been seen to be “living the KPMG values” which include:
Colleagues across the length and breadth of KPMG’s UK practice were invited to nominate support staff for service excellence. Thirty five winners were selected and their names were entered into a raffle at a celebration event at KPMG’s Canary Wharf’s office hosted by the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, Jim Marsh, and Head of Corporate Affairs, Marianne Fallon.
The top prize, holiday vouchers worth £3,000 and a week’s additional paid leave, was won by Lucie Hale, a senior finance administrator based in KPMG’s Canary Wharf office. Further prizes of holiday vouchers worth £1,000 each were won by Clair Meaden and Francesca Knott.
Commenting on her win, Lucie said: “Being nominated for one of the first Bravo Awards was a great honour, and winning the big prize has made it even more special. I couldn’t quite believe it when Marianne Fallon and Jim Marsh read out my name! We have just bought our own house so with all our money going into that we were not expecting to be able to afford a holiday for at least a couple of years so this couldn’t have come at a better time. I think the Bravo awards are an excellent idea and really help to make you feel appreciated. They are a real incentive to go the extra mile.”
Marianne Fallon, Head of Corporate Affairs, said: “I have been truly overwhelmed by the hugely positive response we have had since opening the nominations process. Central Services – our support staff – really are the life blood of this firm. It’s all too easy to take it for granted that invoices are processed, expenses paid, laptops work, that we’re kept safe in our buildings, to name just a few of the vital functions that Central Services cover. We wanted to recognise these ‘unsung heroes’ of KPMG formally, to demonstrate how much we value these colleagues.”
